There’s Always a Rainbow after Rain

Instead of posting a blog this week, I’m gonna share these photos of my time with God. To be honest, these photos speak for themselves, so I won’t go into too much detail. Instead, I wanted to list off some lessons God has been teaching me during my time of rest.
First, rain is good. Rain, though commonly viewed as negative, has so many good attributes. It brings life, provides water, replenishes things in deep need of rehydration, and can even promote a calming effect psychologically. Rain can also be used as a metaphor in our lives. Rain is our bad experiences, closed doors, etc. We view them as negative and a hindrance but eventually, we see growth after the rain subsides. Our rain is a blessing because all those times we thought we were failing, were times in which God used them to grow us and further His good plan.
“I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.”
Leviticus 26:4
That brings me to the next point. Our “failing” isn't failing. In Genesis 37, God explains that Joseph’s failing led him closer to God’s plan. Therefore it was never really a failure at all. What we see as a failure, God sees as good. Just because we aren’t following the timeline we set for ourselves, had to leave a job, had to change our environment, etc doesn’t mean we failed, it means we’re one step closer to our next blessing.
Finally, When we try and steer away from God’s plan or continue in something we’ve been called out of we end up causing a famine. We never want our rain to be withheld. In Jeremiah 3:2-3 and Amos 4:7-8 to prevent famine….the Israelites caused one. They didn’t recognize that turning away from God was the same as choosing sin over God. In our rain and our failing, turning away from God will ultimately bring a drought. A drought we don’t want.
Rain is good. Rain brings life. Don’t run from the rain and things you consider “failures.” Don’t stay in something you’ve been called out of because you’re afraid to fail. If it’s God’s plan, it will never be a failure.
You have to go through rain to receive the growth. Rain might not be fun, you might get wet, but you will be so much better off than you were before it. You will be replenished.
There’s always a rainbow after the rain.
