faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains

He said to them, "Because of your little faith.For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

Matthew 17:20

I’m writing this after rewatching a fantastic movie, “The Girl Who Believes in Miracles.” if you’ve never watched it, I HIGHLY recommend doing so and returning to this post. at the end of the movie, the main character says something so powerful, “It’s like Jesus says the faith of a mustard seed can grow to move mountains.” yes, we’ve all heard this, but let me explain the significance here.

this entire film is based on Jesus performing miracles through the main character’s faith, and it got me thinking about our own lives. Jesus performs miracles, works in big/small ways, and is constantly present in our daily lives. we have just learned to drown them out because we are so used to the world. we ask God for one thing but get something different and feel like He’s not listening.

here’s the thing: as Christians, we are called to show every person we meet the love of Jesus. that starts with our inward faith. when we begin to grow our faith and knowledge that God is, in fact, there, we begin to hear Him more clearly, see those miracles (big or small), and our faith begins to spread to every single person around us. just imagine how much happier the world would be if we all had faith! don’t allow your faith to waver because of setbacks. as we all know, things can hit us when we least expect them, but we have God for that! we have to BELIEVE in Him and have FAITH in Him!

tragedy can hit us at any moment. things can happen that are entirely out of our control. having faith won’t stop these things from happening, but it makes walking through them easier! I am no stranger to loss and heartache, but I am also no stranger to peace in the suffering, just like you!! it is through my faith I can face tomorrow! if we all had faith the size of a mustard seed and we spread that faith to the person next to us, and they spread that to the person next to them, and so on…imagine how many mountains it could move. all it takes is mustard seed size faith and a big God to make the difference!

this movie was so impactful to me because it reminded me why I post these! I hope you take the time to watch or rewatch, and afterward, I hope you spread the good news to your neighbor🤍
