I wanted to write this final part of my series on Easter Sunday because we often attend church today not fully understanding why we needed this sacrifice. if thatās you, donāt worry, it used to be me too! so, letās get into this final pieceš¤
this Easter story stems back to the Old Testament and prophecy. as we know, Eve ate the fruit of good and evil, Adam ate the fruit of the tree of good and evil, and therefore, sin entered the world because they disobeyed God, wanting to be like Him, knowing all. God knew humanity would need a savior because we are human, and itās hard to put our flesh below Him. I sin every day, and so do you!
so, God began speaking to prophets throughout the Old Testament, letting them know a savior was coming!! fun fact: after the last book of the Old Testament, Malachi, we have 400 YEARS of just waiting for Jesus. proof that everything happens in Godās timing and FOR THE BETTER!
now, why was Jesus prophesied? because God knew humanity couldnāt repay the debts we truly owed. we needed a savior that would pay for our sins, which is exactly what Jesus did! God sent Jesus because of His unwavering love for us (Romans 5:6-8)! It's important to note that Godās love for us is because of His loving nature and not anything we have done to deserve it.Ā By sending His son Jesus to die for our sins, God is working to restore the radiance of His glory shining in and through us.
The amazing thing about Jesusā life, death, and resurrection is that it was all for ME AND YOU! He hung on that cross for about 6 hours, nails in his hands and feet. to breathe, he would have to stand on those nails through his feet, and when he began to lose strength, he hung off these nails. a death I couldnāt imagine enduring all for our sins. He knew some of us wouldnāt love Him and wouldnāt believe in Him, yet He died for ALL OF US. my favorite love story of all timeš¤
