y’all know that phrase, “if you knew me x yrs/months ago then you don’t know me” that is how I like to talk about being born again in Christ. see, when we accept Christ into our hearts we are no longer our old self. we are made new. so that means all your mistakes, faults, sins, etc that you made prior to this are no more!
I am not who I used to be. I will say, if you knew me in high school or college as well as now you know I’m not the same person. this is such a blessing. I know that every mistake I made or wrong thing I did has all been forgiven by God. while I am thankful for the lessons I have learned and the people I have met along the way, I am glad that I am no longer that person. that person found her worth through likes and validation from others, that person listened to her flesh, not God, that person chose her worldly desires over His, that person felt too far gone to come home.
let me tell you who I am today. I love God, I love the people in my life, I no longer seek validation from others, I no longer give into my flesh, and most importantly I am finally on the path God has laid out for me. do I slip up? absolutely! does God forgive me when I ask? Absolutely!
see being born again doesn’t mean you won’t mess up. being born again means that you take your mess-ups as lessons to lead you to where God has called you and to who God had called you to be! don’t be discouraged. even in those times of mistakes, struggles, and temptations, you are still born again. none of us are who we used to be the day we give our hearts to Him🫶🏻
