the reason for the season

it’s CHRISTMASTIME 🎄✨ for many of us, that means Christmas activities, decorations, ice skating, seeing family, shopping, church outfits, and celebrations!! it’s such an exciting time! during all this busyness, it’s easy to forget why we’re celebrating.

the reason for this season is something far greater than presents, santa, decorations, etc. the reason we’re even celebrating is because of CHRIST. in a world full of sin; we needed a savior. God sent His only begotten Son to SAVE US! how powerful is His love that He would come down in His human form, suffer, and die for US?? sometimes I tear up just thinking about it because God loves each of us THAT much!

as we know from Luke 1:26-38, Mary was visited by an angel who told her she would become pregnant with Jesus. I don't know about you, but if that were me, I would be SCARED, but Mary obediently called herself a servant of God and listened! before these encounters, there had been 400 years of silence, so you can imagine people’s disbelief that an angel spoke to her and told her she would become pregnant, though God did all the convincing! it is incredible how many people God anointed for this story! every single person had an important role!

now, we know that eventually, Jesus had to die for our sins, but not before enacting change. He came FOR us because He LOVES us! this is the most beautiful love story, and it all starts on Christmas! while you’re busy with all your Christmas activities, never forget why we’re so joyful at this time: the birth of our savior!!

Luke 2:10-11

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
